Product Hunts Erik Torenberg explained that the team made a decision to let most of those in line come in then. In founding OnDeck, Erik was able to find his co-founder at Village Global. He then ventured into investing, having seeded notable companies including Omni, Metaverse, Bot.me, and Tribe.pm, to name a few. Later on, he started the Product Hunt Podcast. Back in Michigan, Erik started his career by creating rapt.fm, which led him to go to 500 Startups, that also led him to become the first employee of Product Hunt. We’re likely to learn more once their fundraising is closed and the two are ready to deploy capital. Instead, the two are looking to build a broader network of “scouts” for deal flow and diligence, according to a source familiar with their plans. That said, the investment vehicle they raise might not have the usual structure of a traditional two- or three-person seed fund.
